If you’re a new parent, or have had a baby in the past few years, chances are you have heard of the Solly Baby Wrap. The must-have baby carrier comes in the most beautiful prints and colors and is famed, the world-over, for being the most efficient (and comfortable!) way to tote your littlest Minis on the go.
“After using migraine-inducing carriers that left me feeling like a packhorse with my first baby in 2009, I wanted something comfortable and chic to wear with my second, so I could not only take care of his needs, but also chase after my toddler as well,” Solly Baby founder Elle Rowley told Mini. “Other wraps on the market were heavy and hot and didn’t appeal to me aesthetically, so after making my own and discovering through the feedback of friends that I had done something really different, I decided to start selling them.”
The rest, as they say, is history for the wrap star. The brand has grown tremendously, even collaborating with designers like Rachel Pally, Jenni Kayne, and Rifle Paper, but that doesn’t mean every parent is aware of the babywearing benefits. We asked Rowley to clear a few things up, including the one thing everyone should know about wearing your littles.
Babywearing Perks
“[Babywearing] reduces postpartum depression and colic, increases bonding, and gives caregivers a certain level of confidence that they can go out with their baby, as well as take care of other children,” she told us.
Don’t Give Up
And before you toss the idea out the window, your mind made up that finagling the fabric just right is not in the cards, you’ll want to note:
“Packing back-breaking, cumbersome gear all over town to tote your baby is what’s hard, not learning how to tie on a wrap,” Rowley shared.
Solly Baby provides easy instructions via their wrap packaging and through video tutorials on their website to make the process easy for busy parents and with just a few tries, you’ll have the steps down to a science. Trust us, we don’t leave home without one!
