While Meg Strachan—the founder of lab-grown jewelry brand Dorsey—may have had the type of pregnancy not often talked about, the mom to Vivienne, 5, would love nothing more than to have a few more hours in the day to “just be a mom.”

We caught up with the style icon and entrepreneur to get personal with details like her favorite kids movie, the last book she read, her typical coffee order, favorite place to travel, and her must-visit shops and restaurants in Los Angeles (add these to your list!).

Pregnancy Cravings

My pregnancy was really scary. I always thought before I was pregnant that I would have cravings, a cute bump, sore feet. In the end, I didn’t have any of those things. I went from doctor to doctor, sitting in waiting rooms, meeting other women who were having scary pregnancies, too. There’s a whole world and experience of pregnancies that we don’t read about. I had one of those.

My Coffee Order

Decaf. Or matcha. In fourth grade, I had my first panic attack and I’ve had general anxiety since. I rarely (if ever) drink because of it. At this point in my life, I know what triggers my anxiety so I really try to stay away from coffee and alcohol. I’m quite good at managing it. It’s just part of who I am. I feel really thankful for friends who accept me for who I am— sober with a lemongrass tea.

Can’t Stop Listening To

Lately, Band of Horses. Acoustic.

Favorite Local Restaurant

Casa Vega in Los Angeles.
